On August 9, 2023, the Regulatory Service for Railway Transport and for Brussels Airport Operations issued a decision within the framework of the ex-officio investigation to the Reference Document “Access to Ticketing Services and Spaces” of SNCB. The purpose of this ex-officio investigation was to verify whether the provisions contained in the reference document comply with prevailing legislation.
Specifically, it verified whether all information requested by Article 4 of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2107/2177 on access to service facilities and rail-related services is included in the reference document and whether this information is publicly available as requested by Article 5 of the same Implementing Regulation. This ex-officio investigation focused only on the non-tariff information. Tariffs will be examined at a later stage.
